The Girl Scouts of Central Illinois serve girls across Logan County with the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, a model of leadership that encourages girls to discover their values, connect meaningfully with others, and take action to improve their community. Girl Scouts offers programming across five program pillars - STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), environmental awareness, healthy living, financial literacy, and leadership through service learning - in addition to providing numerous opportunities for girls to discover their values and develop their character and leadership potential. 195 girls in Logan County, ages 5 - 17 participated in the Girl Scount Leadership Experience in 2016, with groups meeting in Lincoln, New Holland, Emden, Latham and Middletown. United Way Funding helped to assist with membership costs for 48 girls and provided campership assistance to 1 girl.
