Together We Can

Our world looks different than anyone imagined a few years ago. Whether it’s because of the war in Ukraine, COVID’s economic impact or inflation – it’s a challenging time.  It’s no exaggeration to say that the most vulnerable – including low-income ethnic and racial minorities, the youngest and oldest in under-resourced communities, and anyone who was barely getting by before – are struggling more than ever.

That’s why United Way goes beyond responding to immediate needs. We’re helping people respond, but also to recover – and rebuild. Together, we can build strong communities where everyone can thrive. United Way is the largest privately funded charity in the world. In the U.S., United Way is the largest funder of human services, serving people in 95% of the country. Across the world, United Way is working to improve communities in 40+ countries and territories.

Here in Logan County, Illinois, we take community-building seriously, with a hyper-local focus that seeks to improve education, financial stability, and health. We help people invest in local solutions, bringing people together — through charitable giving, volunteerism, and public policy advocacy — to make life better for our neighbors.  What connects us? A deep belief that people in Logan County want to help each other, and an intuitive understanding that education, financial stability, and health are the cornerstones of a good life. If we improve those foundations together, we build a stronger foundation for community and
individual success.
