COVID-19 Response Fund Grants Awarded Week Three

SPRINGFIELD – The Community Foundation for the Land of Lincoln and United Way of Central Illinois announced today the third round of COVID-19 Response Fund grant recipients. In total, $49,500 was awarded to the following organizations:

• Abundant Faith Ministry- $10,000
• American Red Cross- $1,000
• Catholic Charities- $10,000
• Community Action Partnership of Central Illinois- $5,000
• Compass for Kids- $3,500
• Grace Lutheran Church Food Pantry- $2,500
• Hope- $5,000
• Senior Services of Central Illinois- $1,500
• SIAN Charitable Foundation- $6,000
• The Outlet- $5,000

Thus far, nearly $120,000 in grants have been awarded.


Contributions and pledges to the COVID-19 Response Fund topped $475,000 this week after the Fund received a $250,000 grant from the Illinois COVID-19 Response Fund and gifts from ActBlue Charities and the Denes-Blythe Family Fund and Jane and Paul Ford Family Fund at the Community Foundation. Grants will be announced on a weekly basis as fundraising permits. Grants are administered in partnership with the Pandemic Community Advisory Group consisting of funding partners and representatives from community, health and government sectors across the Springfield, IL region.


The Fund cannot provide grants to individuals, however, it does support community-based organizations that have experience providing essential services and support to local residents.

Local nonprofits serving individuals and families affected by the coronavirus outbreak are encouraged to apply for COVID-19 Response Fund grants by completing the online application at www.CFLL.org.


The COVID-19 Response Fund is designed to complement the work of public health officials and expand capacity in Sangamon and surrounding counties by strategically and efficiently addressing impacts from the coronavirus outbreak.
